Is it possible to save roggvir in skyrim
I completed the quest with her mother but the amulet remained in my inventory no reward no nothing out of desperation i tried to drop it in front of her and bingo! Does anyone know, is it possible, for example, to complete the Civil War quest for the Stormcloaks without entering Solitude till the final battle? Will Roggvir be executed then? When I first arrived at Solitude and saw the execution about to take place, I tried to create a distraction and save him without getting a bounty on my head I didn't know his death was scripted.
I ducked into a shadowy corner where no one could see me, transformed into a werewolf, and sprinted off into the night with all the guards and the townspeople on my tail. When I returned as a human the next morning, there was no body on the execution block, so I thought I'd saved him, but soon I found him lying dead in another part of town. Does this mean he ran off and dropped dead anyway, or did the guards get him? Has anyone else tried to save him this way? I just visited Solitude the first time with my new Character, and instead of Roggvirs execution everyone is talking about the burning of King Olaf "Burn the King!
Then get him to follow you, make him essential, give him executioner clothes and axe for irony lolz, then marry him so you know he'll stay at home.
Thats my experience with Roggvir. Even in numbers, a weakling is a weakling still. So you'd have to wipe out the whole town if you wanna save him and its impossible Makes sense, I guess.
Like I said, I can't remember much about what happened after I killed the executioner. I guess he had a weak heart and it was just too much for the poor guy.

I was wondering this too. If not at least you can steal the amulet off of him. I still have to go there, I'll see what I can do Challenge accepted. Not sure about Roggvir, the guards like to kill him quickly when interrupted. In Markath, though, the lady is able to be saved. Attack the guy too early and the guards attack you, too late and she dies. I shouted at the guy and the guards swarmed him, saving the woman. Not positive, but it seemed that every NPC was giving me the "This person is busy" message when I tried to talk to them.

It's automatically. You watch the execution and don't intervene. You intervene and a guard kills him. You kill the Captain and the guards from the execution. If you kill them, he will just drop dead.
Because one or more people required for his scripted death, are dead, so the game just concludes with the scripted death happening automatically. However, if you: Just hit someone and cause a scene, he will make a break for it, and if you distract the guards long enough, DONT kill the captain or the guards from the platform, and he doesnt get mowed down by arrows while escaping, he will disappear but not die.
Everyone still speaks as if he's dead, but he will sometimes reappear in or around the execution site, and even use the grindstone there.
He wont get off it unless you try to use it, he doesnt speak, and if you try to talk to him he disappears completely and never respawns. So, yes you can "save" him, and no it doesn't change anything, he's essentually a useless NPC, with no dialogue, who everyone talks about as if he's dead, despite him grinding away all day, and will disappear if you talk to him.
